ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners for selection to the post of Guest Lecturer in their respective subject by considering the petitioners' teaching experience in Government Arts and Science Colleges in accordance with paragraph 6 of guidelines annexed with G.O.Ms.No.269, Higher Education Department, dated 25.11.2022, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioners, dated 18.06.2023.

2.The grievance of the Writ Petitioners is that they have been employed as Guest Lecturer in Government Arts and Science Colleges for several years, however their services have been dispensed with in the year 2019 and 2021 respectively. The Government issued orders in G.O.Ms.No.269, Higher Education Department, dated 25.11.2022 to fill up 1895 Guest Lecturer posts by giving priority to Guest Lecturers already Page No.2 of 4

employed. Consequently, the interview and certificate verification was conducted for 42 candidates including the petitioners and thereby, 21 persons have been appointed whereas remaining 20 persons not issued with the appointment order. Hence, the petitioners who are similarly placed persons have sent representation, dated 18.06.2023 to the respondents, however the same has not been considered. Hence, seeks direction of this Court.

3.Considering the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 18.06.2023 and pass order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
