COMMON PRAYER : Criminal Original Petitions have been filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct to dispose the case in STC.Nos.4015, 4014 & 4016 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.5, Salem within a stipulated period of time as fixed by this Court.
For Petitioner : Mr.R.Ezhilarasan in the above cases COMMON ORDER The petitioner, who is 73 years old, has initiated three private complaints under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in the year 2021. Since the trial in these cases is not commenced even after two years, the petitioner is before this Court for speedy trial.

2. The docket order of the trial Court indicates that the complainant has filed his proof affidavit in lieu of examination in chief and the matter is posted for cross examination of the complainant on 02.11.2023.
3. Taking note of the fact that the petitioner is 71 years old and speedy trial in this matter is essential, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.5, Salem is hereby directed to conduct the trial as expeditiously as possible and complete it preferably within a period of nine months from today.
4. With the above direction, these Criminal Original Petitions are disposed of.
