ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 21.06.2019 and consequently to direct the respondents to give job assistance as assured on the account of acquisition of land in S.No.537/16 in P.N.Patti Village, Pudhuchinnakavur, Mettur Taluk for the expansion of upper ash pond in Mettur Thermal Power Project, Mettur Dam, Salem District.

The case of the petitioner is that originally, the petitioner's father owned a house property to an extent of 0.237 sq. meter in S.No.537/16, Patta No.273 in P.N.Patti Village, Pudhuchinnakavur, Mettur Taluk, Salem District and the said land was acquired for the purpose of expansion of upper ash pond in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Mettur Thermal Power Project, Mettur Dam, Salem District. At the time of acquisition, the respondents promised to provide compensation, alternative house sites and employment to one of the members of the family in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board based on their respective educational qualifications. However, the respondents have not provided compensation, alternative house sites as they promised during the time of acquisition of lands. The petitioner made a representation on 21.06.2019 to the respondents in this regard seeking to provide employment to his second son. Since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner is before this Court by way of filing the present writ petition.

In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner and considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the representation made by the petitioner is still pending, the respondents are directed to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 21.06.2019 and pass appropriate orders therein, in accordance with law and on merits after affording an opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
