This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to conduct further investigation in respect of F.I.R in Crime No.526 of 2023 on the file of the second respondent.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's son was missing from 23.07.2023 and hence, the petitioner made a complaint before the second respondent police and a case in Crime No.526 of 2023 has been registered. Though the F.I.R was registered in the year 2023 itself, the petitioner has not received any information about the petitioner's son. Since the respondent police has not traced out the petitioner's son so far, the petitioner filed this criminal original petition.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's son is a mentally retarded person. Though effective steps have been taken to trace out the petitioner' son, they are unable to find out him so far.

5. In such circumstances, the respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation and take effective steps to trace out the petitioner's son.

6. With the abovesaid direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
