PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to produce the petitioner's son Praveen Kumar, aged 19 years, before this Court to forthwith set him at liberty.

For Petitioner : Mr.K.Manikandan For Respondents : Mr.E.Raj Thilak Additional Public Prosecutor

ORDER

(Order of this Court was made by M.S.RAMESH.J,) When the petitioner's son went missing from 12.06.2025, he had given a complaint on 17.06.2025 to the third respondent police, which was registered in Crime No.208 of 2025 under the caption "man missing". Since there was no progress in the investigation to trace the petitioner's son, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint preferred by the petitioner has been registered in Crime No.208 of 2025 as 'man missing' and that the third respondent police is conducting the investigation to locate the petitioner's son.

3. Since the third respondent had registered the petitioner's complaint

and are in the process of investigating, we deem it fit that the third respondent could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of this decision, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the third respondent herein to expedite the investigation in Crime No.208 of 2025 and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.

5. In view of the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
