The Writ Petition has been filed, seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to give police protection to celebrate Mariamman Festival from 06.12.2022 to 07.12.022 at Mariamman Temple at Maniampattu Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that for the very same function, an order has been passed by this Court on 06.09.2022 in W.P No.23987 of 2022. Since there is a delay in getting the copy of the order, the petitioner cannot hold the festival in the schedule dates.

3. Now, it is reliably learnt that the petitioner has rescheduled the Mariamman Temple Festival from 06.12.2022 to 07.12.2022. In this regard, he has also submitted another representation to the respondent police.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that the representation of the petitioner is very much available with the respondent and that will be taken for consideration. But, the respondent police has some problem in according police protection in the dates mentioned by the petitioner.

5. In the context of the facts, it is upto the petitioner to make their appearance before the respondent police and consult the respondents and 3/5

refix the date for their temple festival and thereafter, it can be convenient for the respondents to consider the representation and do the needful in accordance with the standing instructions and guidelines in this regard.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
