Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus to direct respondents 2 to 5 to issue permanent proper guidelines and to take immediate steps to save ordeal undergoing by the public from the matter of scrapping of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 due to the notification issued by the Union Govt. and also to save the people from death and poverty in a war footing manner and make people to lead peaceful life by considering the representation dated 19.11.2016.

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The co-ordinate Bench of this Court at Madurai has already dismissed the challenge to the demonetisation filed in W.P. (MD) No.21634 of 2016 (M.Seeni Ahamed vs. Union of India and Ors.) vide order dated 10.11.2016. Further, the time period for exchange of currency had already expired and it is to be now deposited in accounts.

2.There is really no challenge in this petition other than saying that there is inconvenience to the public by scrapping of the currency notes and in the process of conversion. As noticed above, that issue does not survive as the time period for the same is already over.

3.Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
