O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members based on the petitioner's representation dated 08.07.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is engaged in the business of supplying eggs under the name and style of 'Varma Eggs' and that he had been supplying eggs to the third respondent pursuant to an agreement dated 25.04.2025 entered into between them. However, due to the non payment of the outstanding amount by the third respondent, the petitioner stopped supplying eggs to the third respondent and subsequently, instituted a suit in O.S.No.674 of 2025, which is pending before the III Additional Subordinate Court, Coimbatore.

4. It is further contended that thereafter, the third respondent threatened the petitioner with dire consequences and since a murder case is 2/4

pending against the third respondent, the petitioner, apprehending danger to his life as well to the lives of his family members, made a representation to the first respondent seeking police protection. Since, no action has been taken by the respondent Police, the petitioner has filed the present petition.

5. At the outset, though the relief of police protection is sought by the petitioner on the ground of life threat made by the third respondent, this Court directs the first and second respondents to consider the representation dated 08.07.2025 made by the petitioner and in the event of any threat to the life and safety of the petitioner and his family members, it is incumbent upon the authorities to give protection and take action in accordance with law.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
