Prayer:- Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondents for the willful and deliberate disobedience of the orders dated 02.11.2016 in W.P.No.34652/2016. For Petitioner : Mr.S.R.Pandi (No Appearance) For Respondents : MrVenkatasamy Babu [R1 to R5]

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.] When the matter was listed on 24.09.2019, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner and this Court, having noted his absence, has recorded the same and also heard the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the contemnors, who sought time to get instructions as to the compliance of the order dated 02.11.2016, made in W.P.No.34652 of 2016, which is the subject matter of contempt, and accordingly, the matter is adjourned to today (03.10.2019) under the caption "for orders".

2. When the matter is called today, there is no representation for the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents has filed status/compliance report dated 03.09.2019 and it is relevant to extract paragraph No.7 of the said report : " 7. I submit that, based on the High Court order, Director of Postal Accounts, Chennai (one of the respondents) issued an order for sanctioning family pension through PPO No.Postal/2017/TN/29928/5 dated 22.12.2017 to Tallakulam HO. It is intimated that arrears of family pension to the sum of Rs.9,18,356/- (Rupees Nine Lakh Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Six only) was paid on 10.01.2018 to Smt.P.Muniammal @ Radha at Tallakulam HO and family pension is being paid to the petitioner."

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents/contemnors has also submitted the PPO Forwarding Letter dated 22.12.2017 of Department of Posts, India, Office of the General Manager (PAF), Ethiraj Salai, Chennai - 600 008, addressed to the Postmaster, Tallakulam HO, as to the compliance of the order.

5. The said correspondence along with the affidavit of compliance is taken on file and the same is recorded. 3/4

6. In the light of the above, which is the subject of compliance to the order passed in W.P.No.34652 of 2016, nothing remains for further adjudication and therefore, this contempt petition is closed.
