The petitioner herein, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 4(1-A) of TNP Act in Crime No.164 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seek anticipatory bail.
2. This is second bail petition of the absconding accused in connection with seizure of 1)1000 Beer bottles each containing 650 ml-12 Nos, 2) 13 Nos of Old Chef Brandy Bottles each containing 180 ml, 3 Nos of Daimond Rum Bottles (180 ml), 5 Nos of Desmarquis Brandy Bottles, 5 Nos of Chevalier DE Paris Brandy Bottles each containing 180ml and 3 Nos. of Bacardi Limon Ram Bolles each containing 180 m respectively.
3. According to the prosecution, the petitioner herein has purchased liquor from the TASMAC shop in bulk and kept it in his possession and sold the same through A1. Thus, the above said contraband was recovered from A1 and based on the confession statement of A1, this petitioner has been implicated as an accused and arrayed as A2.
4.Considering the statement of the accused from whom, the varieties 2/4
of contraband seized, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
