ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to release 1060 bags of rice each 50Kg seized by the 2nd respondent on 20.09.2022 at Aadhavan Rice Mill, Kaatur, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District.

2. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the said 1060 bags of rice are meant for Public Distribution System and as such a criminal case has been registered.

3. Therefore, the direction sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered. However, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the confiscation proceedings if so advised. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
