ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate, Chennai to expedite trial and dispose of CC.No.8535 of 2018.

2. The petitioner is facing trial in C.C.No.8535 of 2018 before the II Metropolitan Magistrate, Chennai for the offences under sections 147, 148, 342, 448, 294[b], 324, 363, 392 and 506[2] read with 149 of IPC. The grievance of the petitioner is that though trial has commenced in this case, so far P.W1 and P.W.2 alone have been examined and the trial continues to remain stagnant despite issuance of repeated summons to the witnesses. Hence, he has filed the present petition to expedite the disposal of the above case.

3. The learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] would submitted that the case is posted for examination of L.W.3 and L.W.4 on 25.08.2025 and the trial is in progress.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the case is pending from the year 2018, the learned Metropolitan is directed to expedite the trial and dispose the case in C.C.No.8535 of 2018 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
