ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420 and 506(1) of IPC in Crime No. 09 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. On the complaint given by one Natarajan, a case in Crime No. 9 of 2025 was registered by CCB, Salem on 25-04-2025 for the offences under Sections 406, 420 and 506(1) of IPC against Raja and his wife Geeta.

3. The sum and substance of the complaint is that, promising huge return in online business, the defacto complainant been cheated by the accused persons to the tune of Rs.1,12,50,000/-.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the first accused already arrested and released on bail. Therefore, the petitioner herein, arrayed as A2, also be granted bail.

5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the respondent police states that this petitioner is absconding and the complaint by Natarajan is to the extent of cheating Rs.34,75,000/- whereas during the course of investigation,

the police has come to know that this couple had cheated few more persons and the matter has to be investigated in depth. However, due to abscondence of the petitioner, we are not able to make much progress in the investigation.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, taking note of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Hence, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
