Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2017 and take appropriate action to give adequate police protection for peaceful possession and enjoyment of the patta lands of an extent of 24.25 acres in Survey No.406/78, 406/79 and 406/80, Ward No.193 of No.148 Okkiyam-Thoraipakkam Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Ward No.193 within Chennai Corporation limits. O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2017 and take appropriate action to give adequate police protection for peaceful possession and enjoyment of the patta lands of an extent of 24.25 acres in Survey No.406/78, 406/79 and 406/80, Ward No.193 of No.148 Okkiyam-Thoraipakkam Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Ward No.193 within Chennai Corporation limits.

2. The petitioner seeks police protection for peaceful possession and enjoyment of the patta lands of an extent of 24.25 acres in Survey No.406/78, 406/79 and 406/80, Ward No.193 of No.148 Okkiyam-Thoraipakkam Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, Ward No.193 within Chennai Corporation limits. Now, almost three years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.

3. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
