ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 21.12.2015 and pass orders within stipulated time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that she hails from poor family and is residing in No.236, Third Street, Pullapuram, Kilpauk, Chennai-600 010, with three children in the thatched roof house. Due to heavy rain, which resulted in floods in Chennai City on 02.12.2015, rain water entered into the petitioner's house and all of them suffered, because of which, her husband suffered mental agony and fever and later he died. Thereafter, the petitioner's family was left alone without the bread-winner and none of his relatives came to her rescue. The petitioner's children are suffering due to the demise of her husband, which was due to floods. Therefore, the petitioner gave a representation, dated 21.12.2015 to the first respondent for flood relief and though the said representation was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

acknowledged, till date, there was no response from them and even no enquiry was conducted. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for the above relief.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer made in this Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to consider the said representation, dated 21.12.2015 preferred by the petitioner, and after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and necessary parties, dispose of the said representation, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
