..Respondents Prayer:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records relating to the impugned proceeding issued by the 3rd respondent Joint Director of Collegiate Education in Na.Ka.No.2552-A1-16 dated 27.11.2016 and quash the same. O R D E R

The order placing the writ petitioner under suspension in proceedings dated 27.11.2016 is under challenge in this writ petition.

2.However, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the writ petitioner retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.11.2016. Further, he was allowed to continue till the end of the academic year on 31.05.2017 and thereafter, relieved from the post of Principal. Thus, the writ petitioner is not continuing in service. In respect of the charges and the pendency of the criminal case, it is left open to the writ petitioner to defend the cases in the manner known to law. In respect of the present writ petition, the quashing of the order impugned dated 27.11.2016, does not arise at all. 3.Thus, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken in respect of the grounds raised in this writ petition and it is left open to the writ petitioner to defend his case in accordance with law.

4.With these observations, the writ petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
