O R D E R

The petitioner herein is the defacto complainant in respect of 1/4

murder of his son Vijayakumar. The respondent police has completed the investigation and the matter is pending before the Mahila Court, Kallakurichi in S.C.No.106 of 2024. The petitioner, who is formerly residing in Vadasiruvallore village, Kallakurichi, is now shifted at Chennai and living with son-in-law. Alleging that the accused persons are threatening him and other witnesses, he has sought for protection from the police vide communication dated 20.08.2024. Now, he has filed the present petition to transfer the case from Kallakurichi to some other district for the said reason.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police states that the representation of the petitioner is received and the respondent police will take adequate steps to protect the witnesses and ensure that the witnesses are not threatened and if any incident of intimidating witnesses is brought to the notice, necessary action will be taken.

Recording the said undertaking, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of holding that since the police has assured adequate protection to the witnesses, transfer of trial to some other Court is not 2/4

required. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
