ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to promote the petitioners notionally as Nursing Superintendent Gr.I with effect from 16.04.2025, the date of the order approving the estimate of vacancies for the panel year 2024-25 commencing from 15.3.2024 ending with 14.03.2025, with all the consequential monetary benefits and pensionary benefits in the post of Nursing Superintendent Gr.I, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioners.

The case of the petitioners is that they were initially appointed as Staff Nurse in Tamil Nadu Medical Service and were subsequently promoted as Nursing Superintendent Grade II / I, respectively, in the year 2018 and were due for promotion to the post of Nursing Superintendent Grade I. As their names were not considered for promotion on regular stream, they made representation to the respondent authorities. The said 2/5
representation did not evoke any response warranting the petitioners to file the present writ petition. 3.
Heard both sides.

Though a larger relief has been sought by the petitioners, this Court is of the view that it is suffice to direct the second respondent to consider representation dated 22.04.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioners.
