The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondent to forthwith comply with the order passed by the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate at Thirukalukundram, in Crl.M.P.No.334 of 2025 in Crl.M.P.No.448 of 2024, and to file an additional final report in Crime No.522 of 2023 pending on the file of the respondent Police.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the respondent initially filed a final report in Crime No.522 of 2023 only against eight accused, omitting some of the prime accused. Hence, the petitioner has filed a protest petition before the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thirukalukundram, in Crl.M.P.No.334 of 2025 in Crl.M.P.No.448 of 2024, By an order dated 08.07.2025, the learned Magistrate directed the respondent to conduct further investigation by re examining the witnesses and to file supplementary final report within one month.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, 2/4

submitted that the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mahabalipuram, has now been directed by the Superintendent of Police to conduct further investigation. The investigation is in progress and the necessary report will be filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate concerned at the earliest.

5. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Investigating Officer to complete said exercise as expeditiously as possible.
