The petitioner herein, who is the 2nd wife of the deceased Samiappan alleging that she is facing life threat at the hands of the 1st wife family, is before this Court seeking police protection. 2.

The respondent police, on receipt of the complaint from the petitioner has enquired and found that there is a civil dispute regarding property left by the deceased Samiappan between the 1st wife family and the petitioner. In view of the nature of the dispute, the police has not proceeded further in the complaint.

Apparently it appears to be a civil dispute between the parties. However, in case of any incident of life threat or any other criminal act come to the knowledge of the respondent police, the respondent police is directed to take appropriate action. 2/4

With this observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
