ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the second respondent herein to promote the petitioner as Sub Inspector of Police(AR) with effect from 01.01.2008 as per the proceedings in C.No.A1/27264/2013 dated 06.02.2014 issued by the third respondent herein and grant all consequential service and monetary benefits due to the petitioner pursuant to the representations dated 07.08.2012 & 29.10.2014 made by him.

Heard Mr.Silambannan, Senior Counsel for Mr.A.Damodaran, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioners, the present writ petition may be disposed of, without counter affidavit with a direction to the respondent to disposed of the representations made by the petitioner within a stipulated period.

4. Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, the learned Special Government Pleader has submitted that if such representations of the petitioners is pending, the same shall be considered and disposed of, within a stipulated period as directed in this writ petition in accordance with law.

5. In view of the nature of relief sought for and submissions made, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose is going to be served by seeking response of the respondents to the writ petition by filing reply affidavit before consideration of the prayer made.

6.Hence, considering the above facts and the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and without going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the second respondent to take a informed and considered decision on the representations of the petitioner dated 07.08.2012 & 29.10.2014 in accordance with law by a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
