The petitioner herein seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.179 of 2023 registered by the respondent Police for the offence under Section 4(1A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is innocent and she has been falsely implicated in this case. Thus, she seeks anticipatory bail.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) opposed this petition, on the ground that, the petitioner has 26 previous cases, out of which, 10 cases are still pending. All of them are registered under Section 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. In the present case, she seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.179 of 2023 registered under Section 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act by the respondent police on 05.07.2023, when she was caught selling 54 brandy bottles, weighing 180 ml. It is stated that, she ran away from the spot. Thus, he prays for dismissal of this petition. 1/3

4. Taking an over all consideration of the entire issue, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
