Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to regularize the service of the Petitioners as Lady Conductors in the respondent corporation from the date of appointment i.e, 07.10.2010 and consequently direct the respondents to pay arrears of amount from 07.10.2010 based on Petitioner's Joint representation dated 24.07.2024.

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the joint representation made by the petitioners on 24.07.2024, wherein, the petitioners have sought for regularization of their service as Lady Conductors in the respondent Corporation and to extend all the attendant benefits to them.

2.Heard Mr.S.Lakshmi Narayanan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.R.Sreedhar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioners is that they have served as Lady Conductors for over 14 years either on temporary or/and contractual terms in the said position. The respondents were taking steps to get the list of eligible female candidates for appointing them as Lady Conductors in the year 2010 and a notification was also issued in this regard. The names of the petitioners was sponsored by the employment exchange and they were all appointed as Lady Conductors on contractual basis from the year 2010 onwards. 4.The grievance of the petitioner is that there are totally 92 vacant posts and the petitioners are continued to be kept on temporary basis without their services being regularized. The petitioners made joint representation in this regard on 24.07.2024. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions. 3/6

5.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the petitioners to submit individual representation to the 2nd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the same shall be dealt with by the 2nd respondent on its own merits and in accordance with law and a decision shall be taken within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the fresh representation from each of the petitioners. 6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
