..Respondent Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to provide 2 electricity service connections requested in his applications to the portions in his possession viz., (i)the rear eastern side residential portion in the first floor of the building bearing Old D.No.1/10A and New D.No.1/28 and (ii)the eastern side front road side shop in the ground floor of the building bearing Old D.No.1/10 and New D.No.1/28-1 situated at Maharajapuram Main Road, Sembanar Koil Village, Tharangambadi Taluk, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam District on his compliance of Regulation -27(4) of the Tamil nadu Electricity Distribution Code 2004.

O R D E R

The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to provide two electricity service connections requested in his applications to the portions in his possession viz., (i) the rear eastern side residential portion in the first floor of the building bearing Old D.No.1/10A and New D.No.1/28 and (ii)the eastern side front road side shop in the ground floor of the building bearing Old https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

D.No.1/10 and New D.No.1/28-1 situated at Maharajapuram Main Road, Sembanar Koil Village, Tharangambadi Taluk, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam District on his compliance of Regulation -27(4) of the Tamil nadu Electricity Distribution Code 2004.

2. Heard Mr.T.M.Naveen, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned counsel who takes notice for the respondent.

3. The writ petition is filed challenging the order passed by the respondent/Electricity Board requesting the petitioner to furnish tax receipts and title documents to ascertain whether he is entitled for service connection or not.

4. Without furnishing the documents required by the Electricity Board or any proper explanation for his inability to produce the documents, the petitioner has approached this Court. The Court cannot entertain such request, when the petitioner refused to furnish the documents, which are necessary for providing service connection.

5. If the petitioner furnishes the documents, there may not be any impediment for the Electricity Board to provide service connection to the petitioner.

6. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to furnish necessary documents and seek for service connection. No costs.
