ORDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to register a case on the petitioner's complaint dated 22.12.2021. 1/4

2.The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner lodged a complaint to the respondent police on 22.12.2021, though C.S.R.No.490 of 2021 was assigned, no action has been taken despite the petitioner making several representation to the respondent police and to the higher officials. The petitioner at the time of lodging the complaint had produced all the documents which is available with her in support of her complaint. Hence, for the inaction on the part of the respondent police, the present petition is filed.

3.Heard Ms.Vimala Gopinath, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner.

4.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor filed a status report and stated that on the complaint of the petitioner, FIR in Crime No.239 of 2023 dated 20.06.2023 was registered for the offence under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC against one L.Jayaprakash S/o.Lingaraj and notice under Section 41A of Cr.P.C. was issued to L.Jayaprakash and investigation in this case is 2/4

in progress. He would submit that effective steps would be taken to conclude the investigation and in the event of the said L.Jayaprakash not responding to the notice sent under Section 41A of Cr.P.C. and not cooperate with the enquiry, appropriate coercive steps would also be taken and all efforts would be taken to complete the investigation preferably within six months.

5.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 21.06.2023 Index : Yes/No Speaking Order/Non-Speaking Order cse To 1.The Inspector of Police, R-10 MGR Nagar Police Station, Chennai.
