JUDGMENT

(Delivered by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned counsel for the appellant; and, Mr.P.S.Raman, learned Advocate-General, assisted by Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2.

2. Learned counsel for the appellant/original writ petitioner submits that, though the original writ petitioner was elected on 28.8.2018, the original writ petitioner could take charge only on

10.6.2019 and the term of the original writ petitioner would be up to 9.6.2024.

3. The said position of the original writ petitioner taking charge of the office on 10.6.2019 is not disputed by learned Advocate-General.

4. In view of the above, the order of appointment of the Administrator is set aside and the original writ petitioner would demit the office on 9.6.2024.

5. The writ appeal, as such, is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, C.M.P.No.22543 of 2023 is closed. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 23.02.2024 Index : Yes/No bbr
