O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.11.2024 for issuance of concessional railway travel tickets in accordance. 2.Mr.A.S.Vijayaraghavan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of respondents 1 & 2.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he is a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police and he was issued with concession card entitling him to concessional travel benefits as per the circulars issued by the Ministry of Railways and Home Affairs. When the petitioner had approached the Tambaram Railway Ticket Reservation Counter to avail the said concession, the same was refused by the railway officials stating that no such concession was available in their system. Aggrieved by which, the petitioner addressed a representation dated 26.11.2024 to the first respondent seeking issuance of the concessional passenger tickets to the petitioner. However, no action has been taken on the same so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.11.2024 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation is not available with them and therefore, this Court may direct the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation dated 26.11.2024 along with a copy of this order to the first respondent to inablehim pass orders on the same.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation dated 26.11.2024 along with a copy of this order to the first respondent within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks thereafter.

7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
