When the petitioner's mother viz.

Selvakani, Wife of Venkateshwaralingam, aged about 45 years, had gone missing, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent police on 19.02.2025. Since the petitioner's mother could not be traced within a reasonable time, she has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's complaint has been registered in Crime No.132 of 2025 under the caption "Woman Missing" and that the second respondent police is conducting the investigation to locate the petitioner's mother.

3. Since the second respondent had registered the complaint and in

the process of investigating, we deem it fit that the second respondent could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of this decision, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the second respondent herein to expedite the investigation in Crime No.132 of 2025 and file a final report as expeditiously as possible. 5.With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. No costs.
