This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry. 1/4

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent. 3.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the resident of Singapore due to his occupation. All of sudden, he was called by the respondent police to come down to India for enquiry with regard to his house in India. After the petitioner arrived to India, the respondent police has started to harass the petitioner. The petitioner's fatherin-law stated that the rooms of the house should not be opened and keys of the house will be retained by him.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that in the complaint given by the father of the petitioner namely Sivalingam it is alleged that he was threatened by his son and brother-in-law on 11.07.2022 and he was thrown out of the house. Only on that score the petitioner was called for enquiry and the house is not in the custody of the respondent police.

It is understood that on the complaint given by the father of the petitioner, an enquiry has been initiated in C.S.R.No.348 of 2022. Since there are allegations that the father of the petitioner was thrown out of the house at midnight, the respondent police has initiated an enquiry. However, the respondent shall not interfere in any of the civil dispute between the parties. So far as the other allegations are concerned, the respondent police cannot restrain from enquiry. Considering the fact that the petitioner is in Singapore, I feel it is appropriate to direct the respondent police to complete the C.S.R. enquiry in C.S.R.No.348 of 2022 and do the needful in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With these observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
