PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direct the 1st respondent to give necessary police protection to run the company namely Srinivasa Fashions Private Limited, No.57G, SIDCO Industrial Estate, Ambattur, Chennai - 600 098 and its employees and workmen vide representation dated 19.09.2023 and 23.09.2023. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the 1st respondent to grant police protection in order to enable the petitioner to run the factory and to ensure free ingress and egress of the men and materials into and from the factory. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the 1st respondent.

3.The case of the petitioner is that they are running a factory consisting of 300 workers at Ambattur. On 19.09.2023 at about 11 a.m., some persons belonging to an Association came into the factory and started engaging in illegal activities and thereby, they are disrupting the free ingress and egress of men and material from and out of the factory.

4.The petitioner gave a complaint/representation before the 1st respondent in this regard and since the same was not acted upon, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

5.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to act upon the compliant given by the petitioner on 19.09.2023 and to provide police protection. The 1st respondent shall ensure that the striking workers are not allowed within the vicinity of 200 meters from the factory premises and the 1st respondent shall also ensure that no law and order problem is created near the factory premises. 6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
