ORDER
This matter was posted today for Mr.Baskar to report as to what steps that the petitioner would take in order to deepen and maintain the tank situated in Survey No.176/1 of Naduveerapattu Village, Cuddalore Taluk and District.
2. When the matter was taken up, Mr.Gururaj appearing online on behalf of Mr.Baskar, reports that taking note of the title of the petitioner over survey No.176/1, the Block Development Officer of Cuddalore had approached the writ petitioner seeking permission to undertake beautification works with respect to the Naduveerapattu Kulam. It was proposed by the Block Develop-
ment Officer that a sum Rs.44,60,0000/- would be spent for the purpose of beautification.
3. Acting upon the request of the Block Development Officer, Cuddalore, the trustees of the writ petitioner have agreed to permit the Block Development officer to undertake beautification works. Photographs have also been produced by the writ petitioner pointing out the to the commencement of works by the Block Development Officer. The letter of the Block Development Officer; permission granted by the writ petitioner as well as the photographs indicating the commencement of work are scanned and extracted hereunder :
4. The grievance of the writ petitioner was that the Government is not interfering with the petitioner's right over Survey No.176/1. As the Government itself, through its Block Development Officer Cuddalore, has approached the petitioner, it shows that the Government had recognized the rights of the petitioner over the property.
5. In so far as the grievance expressed by Mr.Sunil, that the Padayachis would not be in a position to take a bath in the tank, since the tank has not been maintained well, now that the Government has taken steps to deepen and restore the tank at its cost, the grievance of the Mr.Sunil's clinet stands addressed.
6. Recording the proceedings dated 14.11.2025 and 18.11.2025, the writ Petition itself stands disposed of. Consequently, connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed.
7. By way of abundant caution, Mr.Gururaj states that the permission has been granted only for the purpose of deepening and beautification work of the tank. He fears that the toilet and such other public convenience buildings may
be constructed in an around the tank. In case, the BDO has any such proposal, he shall take permission of the trustees and thereafter proceed. 12-12-2025 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes vrc To 1.The Collector Cuddalore District, Cuddalore.
