Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 05.09.2022 vide reference No. 200095330922448 to give electricity connection in S.No.60/7A2 and 60/7A4, Panaiyur Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpattu District. ORDER

The prayer sought for is for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 05.09.2022 vide reference No. 200095330922448 and to give electricity connection in S.No.60/7A2 and 60/7A4, Panaiyur Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpattu District.

In order to get domestic service connection for his house in the property situated in Old Survey No.60/7, New Survey No.60/7A2, the petitioner had made an application to the second respondent on 05.09.2022 and since the said application has not been considered so far and no domestic service connection has been extended to the petitioner, he has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.S.Sankaranarayanpandian, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents-TANGEDCO.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that, the property, for which the petitioner sought for 2/5

domestic service connection, is in the joint name of the petitioner and the family members of the petitioner and the patta also stands in the name of his family members. Therefore, it at all the petitioner wants to have a service connection in the said property, he must get a No Objection Certificate from his family members and on receipt of the same, needful would be undertaken by the respondent to extend service connection to the petitioner's property.

Having considered the said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent and also by taking note of the facts of the case, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following orders:- (i) There shall be a direction to the second respondent herein to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 05.09.2022, on condition that the petitioner furnishes a No Objection Certificate obtained from the co-owners of the property, for providing service connection as sought for by the petitioner, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the No Objection Certificate.
