ORDER

Challenging the impugned order passed by the learned Family Court, Salem in M.C.No. 40 of 2024, the petitioner/wife preferred this Criminal Revision Petition seeking for enhancement of maintenance. 1/3

2. The learned counsel for petitioner would submit that the respondent is working as a Manager in Ingram Micro India Pvt. Ltd. and he is receiving salary of Rs.79,000/- as on date. The salary slip was annexed with typed set of papers at page No.17 is perused. Based on that, wife preferred this Criminal Revision case seeking for enhancement of maintenance.

3. Despite service of notice, there is no representation on the side of respondent.

4. On perusal of salary slip, it reveals that the respondent is receiving salary of Rs.79,000/-. The trial court has granted only a sum of Rs.10,000/- as maintenance holding that she has sufficient source to satisfy basic necessity of her. As on date, the petitioner is unemployed and and she has no source of income though she is a B.Tech Graduate. On considering the income status of respondent, this Court is inclined to enhance the sum awarded towards maintenance from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.20,000/- from the date of petition.
