This Modification petition has been filed to modify the order passed in W.P.No.1538 of 2004 on the file of this Court dated 14.07.2022.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court by order dated 14.07.2022, directed the petitioner corporation to pay a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- as compensation to each of the legal representatives of the deceased second respondent in the aforesaid writ petition, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of that order, however, this Court has not given any specific direction to deposit the compensation amount to the credit of I.D.No.671 of 1992. Hence, this modification petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Considering the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, paragraph 12 of the earlier order in W.P.No.1538 of 2004 is modified as follows:

"12. This court directs the petitioner corporation to deposit a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) to the credit of I.D.No.671 of 1992 on the file of Principal Labour Court, Chennai as compensation to each of the

legal representatives of the deceased second respondent (respondents 3 to 5), excluding the backwages which was already deposited by the petitioner corporation as per the direction issued by this Court in its interim order in W.P.M.P.No. 1643 of 2002 within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that the legal representatives of the deceased second respondent ( respondents 3 to 5) are not entitled to any interest from the date of the order i.e., 14.07.2022 to till the date of deposit."

5. The order dated 14.07.2022, passed by this Court in W.P.No.1538 of 2004 is modified to the extent indicated above. In all other respects, the order dated 14.07.2022 shall remain unaltered.
