For Petitioners : Mr.T.Gowthaman For Respondent : Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The petitioners have filed the above writ petitions to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to process the applications of the petitioners dated 30.11.2015 and inspect their vehicles in accordance with law and consequently issue the permit for the same.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that they applied for permit in respect of a Contract Carriage before the respondent with the requisite fees prescribed under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

According to the petitioners, the respondent authority have not processed the applications, though it was submitted on 30.11.2015.

3. Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent and submitted that the petitioners may be directed to resubmit their applications dated 30.11.2015 before the respondent and on receipt of the same, the respondent may be directed to consider the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a stipulated time.

4. Mr.T.Gowthaman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioners have already resubmitted their applications before the respondent.

5. In any event, in the case of the applications not being resubmitted, it is open to the petitioners to resubmit the applications dated 30.11.2015 before the respondent.

6. In these circumstances, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case and also taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the writ petitions, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioners' application dated 30.11.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from the date of resubmission of the applications.

With this observation, the writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
