ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct the cultural event viz., Adal Padal (song and dance) program in the event of Temple Festival of Sri Mariamman Temple, Singipuram Village, Valapadi Talk, Salem District on 09.11.2022 between 6.00 pm onwards by considering the petitioner's representation dated 01.11.2022.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct cultural programme on 09.11.2022 between 06.00 pm onwards , in the temple festival at Sri Mariamman Temple, Singipuram Village, Valapadi Talk, Salem District, the petitioner has sent a representation, dated 01.11.2022 to the respondent Police. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent police has received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing

for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police.

5. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a circular memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the respondent police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 01.11.2022 and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular.
