Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the petitioner final settlement amount of Rs.36,873/- immediately.

O R D E R
This writ petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the petitioner final settlement amount of Rs.36,873/- immediately.
2. It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was dead.
3. Today, the first respondent is present before this court and he submitted that he sent a letter to the learned Government Advocate stating that out of Rs.36,873/-, a sum of Rs.7,000/- was already paid to the petitioner. Therefore, the balance amount due to the deceased/petitioner is Rs.29,873/-. After the death of the petitioner, on verification, it is found that the only legal heir alive is her son and he is a mentally retarded person. Accordingly, the first respondent undertakes to pay the amount to the legal heir of the petitioner.
4. The above said exercise shall be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, failing which, the cost of Rs.5,000/- will be imposed for every week till the payment.
5. After complying the above said order, the first respondent shall file a memo specifying the payment particulars to the legal heir of the deceased petitioner before the Registrar (Judicial), Madras High Court, Chennai on 11.10.2017.
