Petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the Respondents to issue transfer to the College of his choice, by considering his representation dated 25.06.2018 submitted to the Director, Centre for Student Affairs, Guindy, Chennai.
According to the Petitioner, he joined B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) in the 3rd Respondent College in the academic year 2017-2018. As the College is 50 kms away from his residence, the Petitioner found it very difficult to commute and his health deteriorated due to long travelling hours. Hence, having no other alternative, his parents were on the look out for another College and fortunately, they could get a seat for the Petitioner in Loyola College of Engineering and Technology (LiCET), Nungambakkam, Chennai. After confirming the availability of seat, the Petitioner sought transfer from the 3rd Respondent/College to Loyola College as early as on 11.06.2018.
3.
In this regard, the Petitioner submitted a letter dated 25.06.2018 to the Director, Centre for Student Affairs, Guindy, Chennai to enable him get transfer from the 3rd Respondent/College and join Loyola College, Chennai and the 2nd Respondent has endorsed the same and ordered the 3rd Respondent/College to do the needful to the Petitioner, considering his health and family situation. Despite the said communication,
as the 3rd Respondent/College withheld the Petitioner's request, the Petitioner is before this Court.
4.
Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the 3rd Respondent/College submitted that the 3rd Respondent has no objection in relieving the Petitioner from their College, to enable him join the College of his choice. 5.
Learned Government Advocate appearing for the 1st Respondent submitted that if the 3rd Respondent/College is willing to relieve the Petitioner and the Transferee College, viz. Loyola College, Chennai is willing to accommodate the Petitioner in the available vacancy, the 1st Respondent has no objection to the same. 6.
Though Loyola College is not a party to the present Writ Petition, on a perusal of the letter dated 23.06.2018 issued by Loyola College, Chennai it is seen that the said College is willing to give admission to the Petitioner in II Year - (III Semester) in B.E. Mechanical Engineering Department in their College, as per Anna University norms. 7.
In view of the same and recording the submissions of the learned counsel for the 3rd Respondent/College, that the 3rd Respondent/College has no objection to transfer the Petitioner to the
College of his choice, no further orders are required in this matter. The 3rd Respondent/College is expected to relieve the Petitioner within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction and observation. No costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P.No.19974 of 2018 is closed.
