3. The petitioner for the past five decades is running a textile trade business on a small scale in the name and style of "Sree Ranganayagi cut piece centre" at Sathyamangalam, Erode district. The petitioner states that while he is carrying the business in strict compliance with the applicable laws during Aadi season certain vendors are conducting sales in Marriage Halls in contravention of the sanctioned usage, thereby not only adversely affecting the petitioner's business but also causing loss of revenue to the state exchequer in the form of service tax, value added tax and other statutory levies. The petitioner therefore submitted a representation on 21.07.2025, to the 2nd respondent along with a list of 29 marriage halls which were operating in violation of the law. However, the 2nd respondent did not respond. Therefore, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. Upon consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case 3/6

and the limited relief prayed in the writ petition, this Court directs the first respondent, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
