By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus directing the respondents to issue Legal heir certificate based on the application dated 11.01.2016. 3.The petitioner's father died on 30.03.1995 and the petitioner has obtained the death certificate from the Department of Public Health in Corporation of Chennai. The petitioner's father left M.Gurusev, M.Susila, M.Gowsalya (died), Lalitha (Petitioner) and Venkateswari as his legal heirs. The petitioner applied for legal heir certificate on 11.01.2016, but till date the said application has not been considered. Hence, this petition.

4.When the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner's father died twenty years back, therefore, before issuing legal heir certificate, the first respondent has to conduct enquiry. Thus, he submitted that if sufficient time is granted, by conducting enquiry necessary order would be passed with regard to the issuance of legal heir certificate. 5.Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader. 6.Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the first respondent to conduct enquiry on the application dated 11.01.2016 submitted by the petitioner with regard to the issuance of legal heir certificate and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
