Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 herein to remove the encroachment made in the Verrapathiram Road, Venkateswara Nagar, Ayapakkam, Chennai-600 077 forthwith by considering the representation submitted to the respondents 1 to 5 on 15.09.2023 and after hearing all the affected parties within a reasonable time.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.S.T.Rajesh Murugan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader, for respondent Nos.1 to 5 and Mr.M.Ponmudi, learned counsel for respondent Nos.6 to 8.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader submits that the disputed land comprised in S.Nos.247 and 231 in Ayapakkam Village would be surveyed on 22.12.2023 and a detailed report will be submitted on 29.12.2023 along with Village records.

3. Depending upon the report of the survey, the authorities shall take steps in accordance with law with regard to the removal of encroachments if any.

With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
