The present Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Coimbatore or any competent authority to investigate the matter of digital surveillance leading to abduction, extortion, assault and attempt to kill the petitioner on 18.06.2025 from Hotel Zone Connect by the Park Inn Coimbatore located in the jurisdiction of Peelamedu Police Station by taking into account the CCTV Footage of the hotel premises of respondent No.9 and premises of Police Station Palladum/R5 against respondent No.2 to 5 and respondent No.7 and

Additionally, in the interest of equity in a parallel matter it is prayed to issue a writ in nature of mandamus to respondent No.6 to examine maintainability of reference made by respondent no.2 dated 27.02.2025 and expedite disposal of reference in commercial dispute in connected matter or in the alternative refer the commercial dispute for mediation before the Madras High Court, Principal Bench.
2. Heard the petitioner/Party-in-Person as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents 1, 4 & 5.

The petitioner, who is a party-in-person submitted that, due to commercial transaction between the petitioner and the second respondent, the petitioner was completely put to watch by the henchmen along with the police officials to know his presence. The petitioner's whereabouts has been trapped when he was staying in Hotel Zone Connect between 17.06.2025 and 19.06.2025. On 18.09.2025, the second respondent with his henchmen with the assistance of the police caught him and kept him in confinement and demanded money. He was abducted to the forest area and was beaten and they also demanded a sum of Rs.20 lakhs. He was kept in confinement for nine hours under threat and coercion. The petitioner has also lodged a complaint in this regard and also made representations to the respondent police but no action was taken. Hence, the present Petition.
4. Per contra, it is the contentions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the complaint given by the petitioner which is pending in CSR stage, has now been closed. However, the closure date was not mentioned in the CSR copy.
5. Be that as it may, it is the case of petitioner that he was abducted, threatened, beaten and demanded money by the second respondent, for
proving the same, he requests to seize the CCTV footages of the places on 18.06.2025, where the incident took place such as the Hotel Zone Connect, Palladam Police Station and nearby areas.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore to investigate the case and seize the CCTV footages of the nexus premises on 18.06.2025 and to file a report and pursuant to the investigation, if any cognizable offence is made out, the respondent police shall proceed as per law. Further, the said investigation has to be monitored by the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore.
7. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petition stands closed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed, if any. There shall be no orders as to costs.
