ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.L.Mahendran, learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.Roofas Abraham, learned Government Advocate accepting notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent and with their consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage. The petitioner is a resident of Chinna Salem Panchayat and his grievance is that the open drainage is running on the Salem Main Road from the Northern part of new bus stand to the Old bus stand which has not been cleaned for nearly five https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

years. The further allegation is that Tea stalls, juice shops, hotels, hospitals etc., are discharging sewage water into the road and this has caused water stagnation resulting in health hazard. In this regard, a representation has been given by the petitioner on 03.11.2015 which has been sent by Registered Post to the 2nd respondent and shown to have been received by the 2nd respondent on 17.11.2015.

In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the allegations made by the petitioner, there will be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.11.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
