ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus seeking a direction to the respondent herein to waive the interest of Rs.35,82,216/-, imposed on the petitioner as belated payment of ESI contribution.

2.The petitioner has not challenged the order imposing interest for the belated payment, but he has chosen to challenge the order of recovery. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent authority to give a short accommodation, so that he can make the payment. 4.In such case, it is for the petitioner to give a fresh representation to the respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the respondent/Recovery Officer can consider and pass orders allowing the petitioner to make payments in any instalment.

5.Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 24.10.2024 vga
