ORDER
The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents herein, particularly the first respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner herein, dated 21.09.2015 forthwith.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that she was receiving widow pension for the past seven years. She underwent operation for removal of Uterus at Kasturiba Government Hospital, Chennai
on 02.07.2013 and she was in-patient for a period of one month. At that time, the pension payable to her was returned to the Taluk Office and on the petitioner's discharge from the hospital, when she approached the concerned post-man and asked him as to whether there was any Money Order in her name, he stated that since there was no one in the house, the Money Order was returned back. Thereafter, when the petitioner contacted the first respondent and explained the position with medical records, the first respondent stated that she would get the amount soon. Inspite of repeated requests, the petitioner did not receive the pension. Hence, she made a representation, dated 21.09.2015 to the respondents for taking necessary action to enable the petitioner to get the pension amount. Since the said representation is pending and till date, the pension was not paid to her, she has filed this Writ Petition for the above relief.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents.
4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer made in the Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to consider the said representation dated 21.09.2015, of the petitioner and after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and necessary parties, dispose of the said representation, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
