ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus to the respondents to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation, dated 18.03.2022, requesting for payment of retirement benefits within a time framed to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner contends that earlier, criminal prosecution was launched against her and due to the pendency of the criminal case, her retirement benefits have not been disbursed to her. The petitioner now contends that by the judgment of this Court in Crl.A.374 of 2014, dated 01.12.2020, she had been acquitted of the charges in the said criminal case. Therefore, according to the petitioner, she is now entitled for retirement benefits. Hence, she has given a representation on 18.03.2022 to the respondents for the said purpose. Since the representation has not been considered till date, she has filed this Writ Petition.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. The petitioner has filed documents/orders in support of her claim that she is entitled for retirement benefits. It is for the respondents to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the said representation requesting for payment of retirement 2 / 4

benefits, is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. For the reasons stated above, this Court directs the respondents to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2022 requesting for payment of her retirement benefits, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
