ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents not to harass the petitioners based on the complaint given by one Mrs.Paanchalai, W/o.Kuppusamy, in CSR No.907 of 2022.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that there were some encroachments in the Village where the third petitioner is the Panchayat President; the first petitioner is the husband of the third petitioner; the second petitioner is the relative of the third petitioner; since the petitioners have removed certain encroachments in the Village, some disgruntled elements had started to give troubles to the petitioners; the said persons were trying to break open the gate in order to trespass into the Panchayat land; hence the petitioners had given a representation to the respondent police for seeking protection; since no action has been taken, the petitioners are before this Court.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the
complaint has been given against the petitioners by one Paanchalai and on which, enquiry has been initiated in CSR No.907 of 2022; the petitioners did not appear for enquiry, despite they have been called to appear.
5. Since the third petitioner has stated that she had acted in her official capacity for the welfare of the Village people, I feel it is appropriate for the respondent police to conduct enquiry on the representation given by the petitioners also along with the above said complaint given against the petitioners and do the needful in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed.
