The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.01.2016 in respect of the petition premises bearing No.68, Armenian Street, Chennai - 1. 2.On a perusal of the petitioner's application dated 12.01.2016, it could be seen that the application was given to the Zonal Officer, Zone V, Corporation of Chennai. However, the Zonal Officer has not been made as a party in the Writ Petition. 3.Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned Standing Counsel (Corporation) taking notice for the respondents submitted that the Zonal Officer may be directed to dispose of the application within a period of four weeks.
4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the Zonal Officer, Zone V, Corporation of Chennai to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.01.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
