This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the Crime No.316 of 2020 on the file of the 1st respondent police on the ground that a motivated complaint suppressing the real fact, civil dispute between the parties been given a criminal colour without application of mind. 2.

The learned Public Prosecutor (Pondy) appearing for the respondent police submits that the complaint dated 06.11.2020 after completion of investigation ended in filing a final report on 07.01.2022 wherein, the name of the petitioner dropped and he is not an accused in the said case. In the light of the above facts, this Petition to quash the FIR has become infructuous.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that during the pendency of investigation, the Investigating Officer has reported to the Government and passport office about the pendency of the case and therefore, there is an impediment for the petitioner to get a passport as well as public appointment. If so, the Investigating Officer herein is directed to inform the authorities about dropping the name of the accused in Crime No.316 of 2020 within a period of one week. 4.

With the above said direction, this Criminal Original Petition 2/4

is disposed of. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
