O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to pass orders on the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner in Ref. No.Pani 2(1)/31959/ 2014 dated 27.12.2014 and further direct the respondents to superannuate the petitioner from service and settle all his retirement benefits within a reasonable time.

2.Learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner limited his prayer only for a direction to the respondents to pass final orders in the disciplinary proceedings. He would submit that to the charge memo dated 24.08.2013, issued by the second respondent, reply was given by the petitioner on 11.11.2013, denying all the charges. Therefore, he would further submit that since the petitioner had already reached the age of superannuation on 28.02.2015, a direction may be given to the respondents to pass final orders.

3.Heard Mr.K.Venkataramani, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 4.In the light of the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, the first respondent is directed to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, by completing the disciplinary proceedings, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
